Date: 2010-09-07

I just noticed that Wherever Yet May Be is now available on Amazon. I usually buy MP3 albums, but I'll get the meatspace variety since I own all the other actual OBD CDs.

	Date: 2010-08-16

Of course, because the book is brand new, it is not available directly in the US. Amazon.uk has it for 36% off the cover price, making it 12.14 pounds ($18.95).

	Date: 2010-08-16

Irvine Welsh (Trainspotting) has highly recommended the new, sweeping Scottish novel by James Robertson. Here is a link to Welsh's review in the Guardian:

And the Land Lay Still

Here's an excerpt of the review:

James Robertson's new novel is a highly ambitious work spanning 60 years, looking at the world through a Scottish lens – almost literally, for its framing device is a retrospective exhibition of pictures taken by a renowned Caledonian photographer. And the Land Lay Still examines how the postwar aspirations of many Scots for a socialist Britain gave way to a resurgent nationalism, and a greater demand for home rule...A flaw inherent in many historical novels is that the narrative force of events can often sweep the characters along, robbing them of the role of moral actors. Through the quality of his writing, Robertson largely circumvents this problem. At the same time, he maintains the pace and luminous prose that make his books such a joy to read. And the Land Lay Still is a wonderful novel, brilliant in a very different way from its acclaimed predecessor, The Testament of Gideon Mack. A panoramic, illuminating and compassionate portrait of a turbulent and confused era, the book represents nothing less than a landmark for the novel in Scotland, and underlines the author's position as one of Britain's best contemporary novelists.

I haven't read it yet, or even purchased it, but thought some here might be interested.

Had show in Bury, Lancs two days after we flew back with Fraser...good to see him back in the saddle again!
I don't think I'm out of place letting those who don't already know that he has had a good prognosis. There are still some procedures to go but it seems he will be OK.
Will run article about who won the guitar soon but we rounded up to $1000 for Susan G Komen Breast Cancer Charity bringing our total for them to $1676.
Have a good celebration and will be in touch soon.
Aaron x
